Accountant - US Finance (Based in Burnaby, BC, Canada)
We are looking for a motivated Accountant (Full-time, Permanent) to join our growing USA finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement are valued.

What you’ll do:
- Manage all accounting transactions, particularly AP and AR management.
- Complete month-end closing, support with reforecasting, and budgeting activities.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process banking payments and reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are properly documented.
- Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure accurate consolidation and reporting.
- Compile and submit statutory financial statements and reports to government authorities, auditors, and company management within required deadlines.
- Support provincial state authorities, IRS, and coordinate with subcontractors for tax- related documentation and preparation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely financial records and documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and perform variance analysis, as requested by the Finance Manager.
- Ensure all accounting policies and procedures comply with group guidelines and audit requirements.
- Work closely with the finance team and business managers on financial tasks, providing insights into financial performance.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager, as required by business needs.
- Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in an accounting role within a professional organization.
- CPA/CMA/CA certification is an asset.
- Familiarity with Navision/SAP or similar accounting software is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar industry is advantageous.
Technical Skills we are looking for:
- Strong knowledge of Accounting (US GAAP)/Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS), accounting regulations and procedures, understanding of account reconciliation, month-end closing, and AR/AP processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with accounting software (SAP, Navision).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
